From 23 to 27 June 2025, Lviv Polytechnic National University hosted the AVIA Camp Summer Career, organised by the Career Guidance Center in cooperation with the Lviv Regional Small Academy of Sciences for Youth. The event was part of a series of summer schools that annually bring together motivated students interested in modern science and engineering.
The School programme focused on unmanned aerial vehicles, aviation technologies, as well as modern satellite monitoring and space exploration systems.
The first day of AVIA Camp began with an introduction and an overview of the programme. This was followed by an immersive dive into practical aviation topics on how:
- to construct aircraft and helicopter-type UAVs;
- to fly drones using professional simulators;
- to create orthophoto plans using Pix4D;
- to work on an individual project to set up and launch a UAV.
Over the next few days, AVIA Camp participants had the opportunity to see a real wind tunnel used to model air flows, learn about modern avionics, its elements, and the principles of UAV control, as well as to visit a modern space research laboratory.
Every day, the participants worked on practical projects, from preparing the drone for launch to analysing the data collected. On the final day, each team presented their results, and all the participants received their certificates.
The AVIA Camp Summer School has once again confirmed that Lviv Polytechnic is a place where young researchers can not only dream, but also realise their ambitious plans. Thanks to close cooperation with the Lviv Regional Small Academy of Sciences for Youth, career guidance schools are becoming an effective platform for identifying and supporting young talents.
